The second part of the movie is set in the 20th century, in 1980s New York. The first part of the movie is about the story of how Santa Claus came to be. Personally, I think this part is a bit weaker than the first half of the movie but it's still enjoyable. I first saw "Santa Claus The Movie" on TV when I was a child. I saw it again recently on TV during the Christmas holidays 2008. A misunderstood elf named Patch becomes partners with an evil toymaker named BZ.
This is my favorite Christmas movie and seem to have lost my original. I appreciated the swift service and the excellent quality of the DVD. Thanks again.
This has been the movie i think about when i think about Christmas ,since i was little:) Its been in the back of my head and ,im soo glad i started shopping on amazon bc i remembered this movie-yes its that great:D
I love especially the details of the North Pole and how everything is elf-made.The movie tells of how Santa comes to be, how the whole delivery in one night happens and much much more in a truly believable way, then as time passes and today's children aren't satisfied with wooden toys they try something new and a certain young elf learns about being away from the north pole then well the story takes off from there. Having searched for this movie for a number of years in Both New Zealand & Australia I was so pleased when I got told to try Amazon.com. I shared it with my kids and they (even at 12 & 14yrs) really loved it as truly shows the magic behind Christmas and Dudley Moore really makes a wonderful elf. This is a wonderfule Movie for the whole family to sit and watch togeather.
Whether your 7 or 37, it will move you, make you smile, and wish Christmas could last for weeks rather than a day. Dudley Moore and John Lithgow's performances enhance the film. Its a christmas story that's warm and charming. Warm and charming. 50 million bucks to be exact. Just a heart warming tale about Christmas.
Best way to sum it up. This guy is a Santa a child would trust and run to sit on unlike those "mall santas" - we all know them. Form your OWN opinion. I think.
I sure do No sex, no BS - just a good family Christmas film. PLEASE - give this a chance. Give it a chance.
From the team that brought you Superman this film had a lot of love put into it. I know you will love it as much as I do. You wont find a man here or on any other planet who portrays the childhood myth and stories about Santa Claus like David Huddleston. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go order the widescreen version.WATCH IT - I promise you and the fam will love it year after year.
My title may seem like over the top drama - and you may just get a little of that in this movie, but I swear, If you haven't seen this film or you've heard its childish or silly, I implore you. They could have copped out and used 1980s trick photography or what was availble for CGI (not much) but the spent the good money and time to train REAL deer from (Norway). His smile and charisma, look and style are perfect.
